Literature Test !i!i!i!i!

Today I received my Literature Test result. I got A2! Actually I thought I got B4 as I had expected. Mr. Krison's "18" looked like a "15", which resulted to me thinking I got only B4 instead of A2. Anyway, I think I did quite well for this term. In our class, the lowest is only B4,a grest improvementfrom last term when we had 2 C5s, 9 B4s, 5B3s, 5A2s and5A1s. This time we had 10 A1s and no C5s!
However there were also some bad news.Next term, we shall be doing POEMS!!! Mr. Krison said that our MSG will be last term's + this term's = 5.??
Hope that we could do as well for next term 's Literature test. :)

Recently, Mr Lee had a conversation with me during Reading Period. He said that I am too quiet that sometimes when he called my name, someone would be wondering who is he calling. (Yes, I agree.)

He also said that if I kept quiet, I would not get OP points, and thus not able to be exempted from any End-of-year Examinations. Then he said that even during the conversation, I also did not say anything but only nod or shake my head and so he forbade me to nod or shake my head.

He also asked me if I had any difficulties in my studies or with my classmate. He also asked me if I find Yi Chao as irritating or annoying as before. I told him that Yi Chao is still irritating but not as much as before. He no longer stamps his feet, sings funeral songs or makes funny sound effects.(Although he still do so sometimes).

I think the reason why I don't talk so much in class is because I am too shy and seldom have the courage to do so. I think that should be why. My parent had already told me about this (Javan had told them that I was too quiet in class during the time Mr. Quek wanted the CMC members to call the parents of everyone to make sure that all the parents are aware of the "Operation Bookworm" and whether the students are forging signatures.).

NPCC Day!

Today is NPCC day. I am just so excited that I can't fall asleep last night. Anyway, I will have to reach school by 6:15 and then go to the Drill Shed to get ready for the things which are coming up later.
When I reached the Drill Shed, I realised that I was the last in my class to reach there. There were 8 of us in NPCC (Javan, Eugene, Yong Quan, me, Soo Wee, Ting Yit, Run Ze and Chun Qi).
At 7 am, we went to the terraces and stood at attention until at 7:25 when people starts to fill up the terrace. I was so nervous as it had only been my first year in Hwa Chong Instituition and I am standing in front of the whole school representing my EP3, NPCC.
After everything had ended, we went to the Drill Shed to collect our bag. Then we went back to class to have lessons. During PE lesson today, we had Table -Tennis (like last week). I learned the proper way of holding a Table-Tennis bat and how to play the game properly. It was indeed fun!
Then during Maths, we went to the library to see the Statistics posters and Mr. Lee told us that we could do a Statistics poster for ACE points. Yay!
After school, I had EP3 as Friday is EP3 day. We had a Current Affair Quiz(For Q1 I gave the wrong answer. The voting is on 6th May, not the 5th.) and a Neighbourhood Watch Profeciency Test. Then we had drill session and we learnt to do Ke Blakang Pusing(A command which means turn to the back in Malay) while marching. Then we had PT (Physical Training) and then Home Sweet Home.

Tests !i!i!i!i!

Today there are two tests(even though it may seem as if there is no tests today). The two tests are a Malay Test(so if you are not in MSP1B, you will not know about it.) and eye test(Is that cnsidered a test!?!).
Let's talk about the eye test first.I think that the degree of my eyes might have increased. Seems that I have to change spectacles soon...
The next Test is the Malay test. We would have to learn about greetings(Selamat pagi, Selamat petang, Selamat malam, ...), months(Januari, Februari, Mac, April, Mei, Jun, ...), days(Isnin, Selasa, Rabu, Khamis, ...) and all the other basic stuffs.
I think quite well for the Malay test this term(last term I got C6!). Hope I will get an A1. :)

This is suppposed to be written on Thursday, but I forgot to do so.

Maths Trail

Today there are two tests -- Infocomm Studies and Geography. I think I did quite well for IS but not for Geography(I think I will at most get a B4 only) .
Next is the Project's Day Prelims 2. My group consists of Wei Xiang, Tian Hao, Ernest and me. I think we failed it (again). If we really failed it, we would get no ACE points for this project but we have to continue doing it as it is an IRS project too (a compusory thing for all Ispark).
Then after the PDP2, Wei Xiang, Ernest and I went for the Maths Trail. As we need 1 more member, Ernest asked Brolin to join us. The Maths Trail started at 3pm to around 5pm.
There are a few stations for this Maths Trail. My group's first station was the Swimming Complex. (The clue was "Splash".) We had to find out the capacity of the pool.
The next station, in front of the Tan Kah Kee statue (clue was "Founders".), we had to find out the height of the Clock Tower. Then, we were given the clue "The vein between Block A & B". The problem given to us at that station was to find out the no. of ways to travel from Point A to Point B.
The next station was at the canteen (clue was "Recess") and we have to find the sitting capacity of the canteen.
We were given the clue "The last class of the first", and my group immediately went to 1N.We had to create magic squares of sides 3, 4, 5 and 6. We only managed to complete the 3-sided square.N+N was the next clue. N+N=...2N ! We went to classroom 2N and had to do a Sudoku puzzle. After that, we went to the table tennis tables near the canteen as the next clue is "Ping Pong".We had to solve 4 questions before we were given the next clue "Race, Language or Religion".
We went to the terraces and were given another question to solve. As this is the last station, we ran back to the library (Ernest was walking until the last part). We handed in the answer sheet and went home.

Talk by Mr. Tan

Today, I attend a workshop by Mr. Tan Chee Wee on "Groups". This talk is held for Maths week.Through this talk, I learned more about sets and groups.

We were also introduced to a game called "Peg Solitaire". It is a fun game which you would have to clear all the pegs on the board.Mr. Tan showed us how this game is related to "Groups" and how "Groups" are useful in our life.

If you liked to play "Peg Solitaire", or wants to know how to play it, click here.

English Comprehension

I can't believe it. I got A1 for my English Comprehension. (I had thought that I will get B3 or B4.) Actually, I got A2(29/40).I scanned through the whole script, hoping that I could find that 1 mark to acheive an A1. Mr. Quek accepted my answer "most poisonous" as a meaning of "deadliest" for Question 13a), and this is how I got my 1 mark and the A1(30/40). The highest in our class for this comprehension is Lim Yong Quan and Yu Run Ze (They both get 34/40). I hope that I will get as good throughout the year for all the subjects.

CW1(Class war 1 -- hope there would be no more of this)

Today, during our Chinese teacher's lesson, there was a "war" in our class. What had actually happened was like this...
Jit Woon was throwing a piece of paper into the dustbin. When he walked past Javan, he knocked down Javan's correction tape(accidentally or purposely?), and Javan, who seemed to be very angry, shouted so loudly (Jit Woon's name of course) that I was startled.
Miss Bian was also shocked but if not for her talk on forgiving others and being tolerant, which took up almost 20 minutes, I wonder how this "commotion" would end.
Javan and Jit Woon have never been very good friends (their relatioship being not that good). However I think that Javan should think that Jit Woon did that purposely(it may be just an accident)and accuse Jit Woon of doing so to take revenge for wha ever things you did to him. As what Miss Bian had said , think of other's feelings ,be considerate.Jit Woon, you are also partially responsible for this. What I think the both of you should do is to apologise to each other and to Miss Bian too as you had wasted 20 minutes of her time.

That's all for the "war" in our class.

Then, later I had NPCC training. We had the Muster Parade(or Master Parade, I don't know which one) and I felt a little dizzy. So I squated down and the NCO, Chong Chen, told me to rest in the Drill Shed.
After training, my father fetched me home and I told my father what happened. He said it might be due to dehydration that I felt dizzy. I should have drink more water the next time.
And next Friday would be NPCC day. More details would (probably) be given in the next few posts.

This is suppposed to be written on Friday, but I forgot to do so.
